The Fourth National Research Conference on Climate Change was jointly organized during 26th to 27th Oct 2013 by IGCS, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi under the banner of Indian Climate Research Network (ICRN).
The conference was inaugurated by Prof M.S. Swaminathan, Founder and Chairman, MS Swaminathan Research Foundation. The conference which was the fourth in the series, covered topics related to the scientific, technical, economic and policy aspects of climate change in South Asian countries, with a special emphasis on renewable energy. The conference was well attended by over 100 student delegates and helped to nurture and enhance a dedicated network of climate researchers.
There was a special event of Inauguration of CSE’s Climate Talkies Exhibition and Talk on Politics of Climate Change. The distinguished guests at the valedictoryfunction included: Dr. Chandra Bhushan, Deputy Director General, CSE, Dr. G Bala, Associate Professor, Center for Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies, IISc, Dr. Krishna Achutarao, Associate Professor, Center for Atmospheric Studies, IIT Delhi, Prof. Ambuj Sagar, Humanities and Social Science, IIT Delhi and Prof. Sudhir Chella Rajan, Humanities and Social Science, IIT Madras. Prizes were given to the winners of the Poster Presentation Competition.
